Once upon a time, on a very hot summer day, a crow was flying in search of water. The sun was shining bright, and all rivers and ponds were dry. The poor crow was very thirsty.
He flew here and there but could not find water. The crow became weak and tired. He thought, “Oh God, I will die of thirst if I don’t get water soon.”
Suddenly, the crow saw a pitcher under a tree. He became happy and said, “Caw! Caw! Maybe there is some water inside.”
The crow quickly flew down. Yes! There was water inside the pitcher. But the neck of the pitcher was very narrow, and the water was too low. The crow tried to put his beak inside, but he could not reach the water.
He tried to push the pitcher, but it was too heavy.
The crow did not give up. He looked around and saw some small pebbles lying on the ground.
Then an idea came to his mind. He picked up the pebbles one by one and dropped them into the pitcher.
Slowly, the water level started rising. After some time, the water came up near the mouth of the pitcher.
The crow happily drank the water and flew away, thanking Mother Nature.
